You’ve got the power

We are recruiting mentors! Apply now!

The She’s in Power Program helps close the gender gap in high-demand STEM fields. We can’t do it without experienced people like you to guide the next generation!

She’s in Power matches women (Sparks) who want to pursue a career in STEM with a short-term work experience (Power Project) and a professional mentor in their industry (Energizer) for 4 months. Energizers are professionals (we welcome all genders) who want to impart knowledge and opportunities for growth to emerging female professionals in their sector. We provide training to our Energizers so they are equipped to deliver productive and proactive interactions.

Criteria:

  • We welcome all genders to apply to be an Energizer!
  • You can be located anywhere and work with your Spark virtually, although we have a preference for Colorado-based professionals, since our Sparks are primarily located in Colorado.
  • If you have over 5 years of experience in your industry, and are interested in sharing your knowledge and experience with an emerging professional, please consider applying.

How can you benefit by participating?

  • Impact a woman’s life – support a Spark’s growth and success with their Power Project
  • Learn how to be an effective mentor through our training and support
  • Be part of a community of women for women in the industry
  • Grow your network
  • Develop your leadership skills
  • Help bridge the gender gap of women in STEM

Energizers commit to:

  • A 4-month program with start dates in February, May, and September.
  • Participating in Mentor Training (offered virtually).
  • Participating in kick-off and wrap-up meetings and celebrations with the Power Partner and Spark (all are offered virtually).
  • Conducting monthly mentoring sessions with your Spark that focus on professional development. Topics may include career pathways, education and training, networking, resume and personal marketing, navigating obstacles in the workplace, and understanding workplace culture. Mentor training will provide you with guidance on how to structure your time with your Spark. You can meet with your Spark virtually or in person.
  • Participating in She’s in Power networking events (virtual and in person) as much as your schedule will allow.
  • Completing end-of-program evaluation.
